Gammon's Gulch Movie Set and Kartchner Caverns 5 March.

We visited the Gammon's Gulch Move Set. This set is out in the middle of no where. John (Jay) Ashley Gammons is the founder. He did the personal tour and is a wealth of information. One of the many interesting stories Jay told was when he started this place. He told his father he was going to build a "dude" ranch. His dad told him, "no too much liability so build a move set instead. And when you build the streets make them two plus wagons wide. That way the wagon and camera wagon can work the street."
The below photos are of some of the props he has on site.
Jay showing some of his photos which are personal to him. Then he had to point at something across the saloon.

 A collectors dream.

 Like this plank.

Jim and I in front of the saloon. Jay plays the Banjo in there too.
Our visit to Kartchner Caverns was well worth it. I was mad they would not let me take pictures. Now for the rest of the story.

Here are a couple photos from the web page. This cavern is a living organism so they control the environment tightly.  No cameras and many more restrictions.  I was upset I could not take pictures but now understand. Well worth the visit.

  1. Glad you got to visit Gammon's Gulch. It's one on the few places that isn't all commercial. I had heard he stopped giving tours so was glad when I heard that wasn't true. We had a private tour and spent the whole day there.
