Departing Banff for Jasper was a 180 mile drive. This drive was up the Ice Field Parkway.
Our first stop along the route was at Lake Louise. They wanted to see the lodge. I opted to stay with the rigs because my tender legs did not want to do the long walk from the parking lot where the rigs were parked. Bob and Pat will leave us and head back home as we head north.
This chandler is inside the lodge.
The lake had ice on it but beautiful colors.
We pulled into a photographic rest stop with many tourist buses. This group was from Britain and they really looked at the big caravan (trailer) and trucks. My rig had a lot of photos taken of it.
Griz.
Can you say wide open spaces. Wow. Greg in the lead, Ron next and we brought up the rear.
The first two rigs have already made the switch back and are climbing the grade.
Glacier area.
This is the Glacier and the dots are vehicles for the drive on the Glacier tour.
This is the new Glacier overlook. We did not take the tour because there was a 30 to 45 minute wait because of tourist buses to get on the bus that would take us to this site. We drove by it after the visitor center for the Glacier. It looks small and we think we were glad we did not wait up to 2 hours total. However not looking down through the glass we will not know for sure.
This is our stop for one night, boon docking which we are all set up to do.
Hope you are enjoying it all. So sorry to hear about your leg trouble. Hope that heals quickly.
