Cle Elum, Wa to Athol, ID and Missoula, MT

I left Jim and Kristie's cabin  in Cle Elum on 8 May and drove to Athol, ID to visit Curtis and Stephanie. They were Co Wagon Masters at Quartzsite with me and agreed to be Wagon Masters there this year.
They have a nice new house and plenty of room for an RV pad with Full hookup.
We took a ride to Farragut State Park and Lake Pend Oreille. The lake is the forth or fifth largest lake excluding the Great Lakes and one of the deepest over 1400 feet.
And interesting floating house or cottages.

The Navy use to test Submarines and or deep water projects here.
I am back in the North West. We had so rain showers.
I left Athol on the 11th of May driving to Missoula, Mt.
I had three passes to travel OVER. The last one Lookout pass, right on the ID/MT boarder was the highest and the one of most concern. It had rained the night before departure and snow or ice was a concern. The weather reports seemed ok so I headed out. As I got closer to the pass I noticed the snow line was dropping and getting closer to the road level.
When I reached the summit the snow line was there to meet me at road level.

No ice, only wet roads. The rest of the trip was easy. However I notice the snow line here in Missoula is about 100 feet above the road and the temperature was 43F when I arrived around 12:30 MDT.

I am here until the 21st. I fly to Baltimore on the 15th, and then ride to Rochester, NY area with my daughter and family. With my sisters help (actually she has done 90% of it) we celebrate mom's 95 birthday on the 17th. Drive back to Baltimore on the 18th and fly back to Missoula on the 19th.

My Marine friend Dave will meet me in Missoula and help me, travel with me, on the two month trip to Alaska.

Safe travels all.
