Relaxation in Nevada

After the Grand Canyon visit I drove to Laughlin, NV for four days visit with Escapee SOLOs. This was my first time parking with them. A great group of people interested in RVing and helping others.
I left Laughlin and drove up to the Clark County Shooting Range / RV Park and spent three nights with Dave and Betsy. While there Dave loaned me a string of his multi colored outside LED light strings. We installed his and then he helped me install them on mine.
I used the motion sensor light as power for the LED string and used the bulb case as the power connection to the light.

I purchased these lights in December and put them in a safe storage place. In January I looked for them tearing apart 95% of the trailer. As I said Dave loaned me an extra string he had not used yet. I ordered more and replaced Dave's string. A week after I found my original lights in there safe place. That place was right over my head above the recliner I sit in.

The morning I was ready to leave Williams, AZ (Grand Canyon area) I notice a flat tire on the trailer. I detoured to a tire shop after changing to the spare. He found the rim at the hub had a crack in it. This was my second rim failure.

I contacted TREDIT and they honored their life time warranty and shipped a replacement. Since this was my second failure of a cracked rim not tire failure since I was using Carlile F rated tires I decided to upgrade to 17.5 inch rims and H rated Good year G114 commercial tires. With my pending trip to Alaska I could not trust the old rims. These new ones are much beefier.

After installing the new tires Don, Gayle and I made a trip to Beatty, NV as base camp for a tour of Death Valley. I feel the trailer responds better on the newer rubber.

While in Beatty we visited Rhyolite and old mining ghost town.

One house was built with bottles on there side in the walls. The other facade has been removed to show the bottles.

Next to the house was the miniature community.

Next to the ghost town was these artistic items.

Don drove us over to Death Valley.

Devils Golf Course. Only he could play on this course.
A tour of the Artist Drive. The rock colors are beautiful.

Sunday the 6th of April I move back to Clark County Shooting Range for three nights.
Then to the following:
Bryce Canyon
Monument Valley
Moab
Salt Lake
Arriving Walla Walla, WA by 1 May.
Safe Travels All.

  1. Did you visit Scotty's Castle while you were there. Will you be in Monument Valley during a full moon? They give night time tours then.
