December with Friends

The first week of Dec I spent time with long time fiends Ruel and Harry. The day I arrived they determined their 10 year old German Sheppard was failing and had to be transferred (military term) to the Rainbow Bridge Poem.  It was hard on all of us. I was glad I was able to support them through this tough time. We had a good week together. Harry and I went fishing twice during the week. As stated a bad day fishing is better than a great day at work.

The second week I went to Jim and Vickie parking at their RV site. Jim has a large garage that houses his Montana RV and truck. He has 50 amp service. So I parked in front of the RV door and had power.  Jim does not eat much that does not have hoofs (sea food) however Vickie does. We went to T & W Oyster Bar for an evening meal.  Vickie and I shared a half peck of medium warm oysters and then a double sea food pot of clams, corn, sausage, shrimp and snow crab. T & W is noted for their Rooster which is a cracker, heavy layer of horse radish, oyster, hot sauces (3), jalapeno and black pepper. Picture Vickie and I had three each. I then bought their T shirt.

Jim and I had time to do a little work on my RV and in his barn. He helped me organize my rv basement so I could find items easier. That seems to be an endless job.
Jim and I saw some nice LED lights in Goshen. Jim also installed them on his RV so I decided I wanted them for the outside. I ordered the wrong ones, mine were not water proof so we installed them on the inside.

Jim and I installed about 20 – 2”x4”x8’ worth of lumber. We put in the horizontal spacers between is wall studs in his Man Cave. This was preparation for insulation and dry wall.

The third week I moved to Fayetteville, NC and parked on the Lake Smith FAMCAMP. I was near  George and Rosetta who invited me to their 50th wedding anniversary and renewal of vows. It was a very nice evening with many friends and family.

Jim & Vickie, George & Rosetta and me.

While in the area I was able to help George install a Progressive Industry EMS (electric surge guard) and front power plug.

I also hooked up with two MOC friends having supper with Larry and Pat. Then Larry took me to the Special Forces Museum and Veterans Park.

I also worked in a  lunch with Steve and Carla who drove 75 miles to meet me half way. The MOC is a great extended family.
