Well it is time for me to catch up on my Blog. I moved to Gillette, Wy on the 29th of June. The Escapees RV organization is having their annual Escapade here.
Backing up a little I stopped at 7th Ranch, Garryowen, Mt for three nights 25-27 June. I arrived about two in the afternoon. This was the view that greated me. The two horses ran up to the fence and their heads were bobbing up and down.
The park is on the south edge of Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monumen. The receptionist told me they were having a big celebration today (25) and I should go up. I arrived about 4 PM and found out later that it was the day Custer was killed and I arrived just about the time. What a coincident. There were mostly people of Indian decent so I left them to their celebration not wanting to impose on their events. I did not feel threatened, just reverent to them. This area is all Crow Indian property.
I did go back on Thursday.
Some of the park is on private land.
I liked this image of the low clouds/fog off the river in the valley
I visited this site just up the road from the park. It is a military site recognizing the Indians that have served.
This shows the images used to make the Tee Pee.
Our last night of the Escapade was a banquet dinner and then fire works since it is the 4th of July.
Rollie, Janet and me.
Right time and palce for this shot of mother nature adding her own fire works.
It was storming so all the shots were taken from the bed room window of my trailer. Great view. My knees do hurt today.
I am parked here till Monday the 8th. I wanted to make sure I had an RV site through the 4th weekend. I move to Spearfish, SD.
Safe travel all.
Great shot with the lightening John. I've never seen one with that combo before.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got back to the Bighorn Battlefield. It's quite an interesting place.
