1/30 First Morning at Imperial Dam BLM

Saturday, 26 Jan, there were four Montana RVs parked at Del Pueblo RV Park & Tennis Resort. Three of us arrived at the same time. Everyone but me washed their trailer that day. I started my laundry in the trailer since I have a washer and dryer in it. The rest went to the laundry and used the park machines. I then hit the Yuma exchange and commissary. At the suggestion from George I purchased a 10" x 20" electric grill for doing pancakes.

Sunday I cooked pancakes (SOUR DOUGH) of course for all seven of us. As with my normal routine they have to provide the meat and syrup. They were a success again. I did wash the trailer and truck today. It does look better. I missed on spot on the door of the truck and it reminded me of the Nov wash I did at Charlie and Judy's in MI before going to Keystone for trailer repairs. That truck is so big and when it is wet it is hard to see where you missed getting all the dirt off.

We all decided to spend an extra day on full hookup so we left Tuseday morning from the RV Park. We stopped for propane tank fills. Being off the grid we need propane for the furnace, water heater and refrigeration. I was all hooked up and Jim asked, "Did you fill your water tank?" Thanks Jim I had forgotten to top off my fresh water tank. Again carrying all your own support means having a full tank.

So we moved to Imperial Dam BLM area. This picture has me making the left onto the Yuma Proving Grounds. This BLM stay is a little different than the last stay for the MOC Circle. This land is designated as Long Term Visit (LTV) and we have to pay for the service. $40 for 14 days or $180 for six months. I paid for the 14 days. One of the differences is they have dumpsters, fresh water and septic dump at the entrance to the area. We are West of the Yuma proving grounds and Colorado River. This puts us in California. We did not change time zones yet. Since we are so close to Yuma we stayed on their MST zone.

The water photo is crossing the Colorado River and the next one is the BLM area with RVs just scattered out on the plains.

I forgot to post my impression on the drive to Yuma. The desert in Quartzsite and on the drive down had become a normal view. About twenty miles before Yuma we popped over a rise and I saw all this green farm land and crops next to the road. What a difference in contrast. Then I noticed the water canal next to the road and understand better how the green came about.
