Sep / Oct 2014

I left Arkansas with my next major destination the MOC 11th Annual Fall Rally at Gochen, IN. My route took me past Lenoard and Marlyn's house in Poplar Bluff,  MO. They invited me to park in the drive with 50 amp service for the night.
I needed to fuel up so we drove down to the Walmart and I got fuel. While there I checked to see if they had a vision center.  The last two locations (Ok and AR) where I stopped did not have one.  The frame for my new multi color lenses had broke.  The frame was not from Walmart yet the lady was able to find me one frame that would accept my lenses. It was less that $75 and had Duck Dynasty logos on the inside of the bows.  They worked, were cheap and I like Duck Dynasty.  So I am a happy camper. The next morning we waved good bye until meeting again in Goshen.

I drove on to Denny and Dona's house where I again had 50 amp service. Denny being an electrician I was not surprised.
Denny and I did some small repair jobs on both RVs and swapped many lies. MOC members are definitely family.
I left Denny's and drove to Indianapolis, IN. I found two casinos in the area. Hoosier was in Anderson on the North East side of town.  Walking to the casino I noticed what looked like small dog poop around my RV. I thought about the inconsiderate people not cleaning up after their pets.  The next morning around 4:30 I heard the honking noise and realized there were Geese in the area. Sure enough they were the owners of all the "dog poop".  Go figure.

I tried to go back to sleep but anticipation of arriving at Goshen was too strong  and it was only 112 miles so I pulled the landing legs and headed north.  I was on schedule to arrive Goshen at 8 am so around 7:45 I called George to see if he would like to share breakfast with me at Lux.  He did and we did.  Around 9 I pulled into the Elkhart 4H Fair Grounds and stayed there though the MOC Fall Rally. I had a great time at the Rally.

What a crew. These folks were homeless. Their Montana was at the Keystone service center receiving some needed repairs.  You notice they will work for "Level up" a nice addition to the new units which can be retro fitted to the older ones. I know I did it last Jan.

This couple testing the mattress they won in a drawing.  They told me this picture could not go on Face Book so it only goes on my blog. I keep my promise.
I left the rally heading for Southwoods RV, Byron NY. It was a 500 mile drive so I figured 200 the first day and 300 the second. I hit the 200 mile stop around 2 pm and was not ready to stop so I picked Erie, PA as my stop for the night.  Still having credit on my Cracker Barrel gift card from grand kids I stopped for supper. My research showed a casino a couple miles away so that was my over night stop. I pulled into Southwoods early after noon. Mom was happy to see me. Yes the leaves are changing.
Curtis and Stephanie from ID. were in the area for a conference so we meet at Niagara Falls for some sight seeing.  After finding a place to park the dually (a little challenge) we went into the commercial visitor center.  I struck up a conversation with the man doing maintenance and he gave us great information on what to see and when at no cost.
This taken from the New York side.
The same falls but from the bottom looking up. Boy what power.

We walked across the Rainbow Bridge which was a lot less hassle with traffic lines and customs.

Most of my shots were of the New York side this time. We did not get up to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls because the wind was blowing the mist into that area. I do melt, ask me.
This was just a small amount of the crowd on the Canadian side.
Southwoods RV has a Holloween event each year the middle of the month.  Tammy and family came up for it.
