Happy New Year to all my friends and family.
George & Rosetta and I went down to the
French Quarter last night and had dinner in a hole in the wall restaurant,
Coops Place. Boy was it GOOD! We came home after dinner not spending any time down there partying. I actually went to bed at 10:30 CST
so I did not even see the ball drop in Time Square.
Today we went to the WWII War Museum.
Great 45 minute movie in there Solomon victory Theater with special effects
and narrated by Tom Hanks. Then a tour of the European and Pacific battle displays in the museum.
I Left Umatilla OMS on Saturday the 29th and spent
that night at Florida Springs RV, Bonify, Fl. It was ok for a one nite stop. I saw
the evidence of sand erosion from the heavy rain and definitely glad it did not
rain while I was there. That stop let me visit with Bill and Cherry for a
while.
Sunday I drove to Gulfport, Ms and spent the night at the
SeaBee Base FamCamp Shields RV Park. This RV park was newly built after Karenina. It is very nice
with concrete pads and full hook up.
Monday I finished the last 70 miles to New Orleans and meet up
with George & Rosetta. This park, Jude RV is small and tightly packed but works for
the two night stay. Other nicer parks wanted three nights to stay over the
holiday.
Glad you got to visit the WWII museum at NO John. Steve S and I visited it while the ladies shopped on our trip out West in 2011. BeSafe. dl
