Those that know me know I am not a
huge fan of the commercialized Christmas and there for do not enjoy decorating.
I was not going to do anything and still have not. Tammy, my daughter, has been
after me to have some Christmas decoration in the trailer. She is like her mother, both love
Christmas.
13 Dec, I received a call from the park office that there
was a package for me. I told them to leave it on the patio since I was heading
back to the trailer. When I got back sitting on the picnic table was a 2’ box
that said “Live Plant”. I wondered who had sent that. I tried to remember who I
had given this address.
I opened it up and there was a LIVE evergreen tree. My first
reactions was Tammy had sent this to make sure I did Christmas. I text her
saying "the tree arrived". I was a little
miffed because I hate wasting things and had no way of taking care of a live
tree in my travels.
I told Frank and Sandy about it and asked Sandy if she
wanted to decorate the tree. They came up and I put the lights on the tree.
That was easy. I stood above it, clipped the last light on the top of the tree and just
twirled the lights around a couple times and done. Sandy put the six white
butterflies and six silver snowflakes on the tree.
As I was flattening the box I noticed the packing label and
opened it. The card said “Everyone needs a little Christmas to brighten their
home. Merry Christmas, Jim and Vickie.” Then I remembered I had given my address to Jim.
I took photos with my phone and sent copies to Tammy, Jim
and Vickie with the text "Jim and Vickie sent this tree." That was to tell them
it arrived and Tammy that I was sorry for thinking it was her.
Tammy was busy with Andrew when the second text came in
and he had to help her realize I had thought she sent the tree and was just
correcting my error.
Thanks to my Daughter for caring for me and my friends for
ensuring I have a little Christmas to brighten my home.
PS - Jim and Vickie even thought about the life of the evergreen when I left. They called the RV park and found a workcamper who will plant it and ensure it is watered after I leave.
